Steven Hyjek provides legislative and government relations services to the firm's clients, focusing on procurement policy, military base enhancement, environmental regulations, and public policy matters. Mr. Hyjek has been formally recognized by State and Federal Agencies for his government relations achievements.

As a principal of HYJEK & FIX, INC., Mr. Hyjek is an integral role in client services, as well as the development and execution of strategies to achieve client objectives. He has been professionally engaged in legislative, budget, procurement, and public policy matters for over twenty five years with a demonstrable track record of success.

Prior to forming the firm of HYJEK & FIX, INC. in 1989, Steven Hyjek was Vice President for Government Relations for the law firm of Bogle & Gates. As Vice President, Mr. Hyjek successfully represented a number of U.S. and international corporations, serving as an advocate for their interests with the Congress and pertinent federal agencies.

From 1981 to 1986, Mr. Hyjek served as a Congressional Liaison Representative for the Secretary of the Army. During his tenure with the Department of the Army, he represented the Army's interests to the Congress on procurement, environmental, privatization, and chemical demilitarization issues, as well as base closures and realignments. He advised the Army leadership on the impact of Department interests on Congressional interests, as well as facilitated discussions between Congressional leaders and Army principals to secure legislative support for the service's initiatives.

Before representing the Army on Capitol Hill, Mr. Hyjek was employed by the United States Senate for seven years. He developed an expertise in parliamentary procedures and the legislative process while serving in this capacity.

Steven Hyjek is a graduate of the American University with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations and a Masters Degree in International Law.
